This is a terrific, off the wall episode, and a super choice to get comedian Soupy Sales on the show. This also had possibilities as Soupy and Mr. And Mrs. Drysdale made a terrific trio. They were all nuts.
Soupy plays Mrs. Drysdale's nephew Lance, sort of a classy version of Jethro, sporting sun glasses with a neat wardrobe to go. She also gets the big idea for Lance to take over her husband's office and run the bank himself! There's a great gag scene where Lance interviews young girls for Miss Jayne's position --by their measurements.
At this stage in his career, Soupy was enormously popular on tv and always fun to watch. He was a master of so many kooky characters, and inspired many comedians. Best yet, watch Soupy and Jethro together --who plays Air Force General Buzz Bodine? Now that's classic.
