A Woman's Perspective
mitchrmp4 January 2013
It wasn't a great idea. Another man was dying who was in Latigo at the same time as he was and could confess to the crime. The man, worried about his family like he was, was easily convinced after being promised he'd take care of his family. But the man wasn't too trusting and found a way to make sure he kept his end of the deal.

Clay was able to win Pickard's case, but he just couldn't believe this was all on the up and up. Clay was determined to prove that he had a reason to be cautious.

There is a sense of blackmail and twisted greed of money as two men fight for what is there's. The fact that one is fighting from his grave isn't too hard to understand, but things don't go like either man planned and soon Pickard is in a big hurry to get out of town before the truth is found out.

Three people died.

Letter of Death
Prismark1017 August 2023
Brad Pickard is in jail for murder. However he has a way out. He persuades elderly Clyde Dawson who is dying in prison to take the wrap.

If Clyde confesses to the murder, Brad will split the compensation money with Clyde's family.

The Governor does set Brad free after Clyde's confession and he is awarded $10,000 in compensation for false imprisonment. Clay Culhane represented Brad and Marshall Gib Scott is not happy that Brad is free.

However Brad's celebrations are cut short. Barney Dawson is Clyde's son and he wants half the compensation money. He has a signed letter from his father regarding their deal.

Clay is also not happy about Brad and looks into whether Clyde's confession was bona fide.

I guess the confession of a dying man in the same prison as the accused was a bit flimsy. At it's heart it is a trail of greed. Brad has no intention to share the money. Clay wants to make sure he has not made a mistake.
