Mr. Dithers is gathering pictures of the office staff for a presentation to impress an important prospective client, Mrs. Hawthorne (Nan Boardman). Through a case of mistaken identity, Mr. Dithers' secretary Marie's (Pamela Duncan) date Andy (Gregg Palmer) pastes the label for president on Dagwood's picture. Mrs. Hawthorne is impressed by "young blood" leading the company. Now Mr. Dithers has little choice but to have Dagwood run the company to secure the contract. Dagwood doesn't feel he can pull it off. When Mrs. Hawthorne arrives complications begin comically snowballing.
