This was a pretty entertaining Bob Hope holiday special from the '50s
tavm29 December 2020
Performed before an Army base in Alaska, Bob Hope does his amusing monologue with the usual dated touches. He then has some banter with the Miss Universe at the time, Carol Morris. Then Hedda Hopper appears telling about her Alaska experience before Hope appears alongside her trading some quips leading to a sketch with Bob then appearing with Ginger Rogers and his off-and-on sidekick, Jerry Colonna! A Chevrolet commercial follows before another sketch appears with Bob as a sergeant being told to treat new recruit Mickey Mantle with kid gloves. Then Hedda Hopper reappears introing the singing Del Rubio Triplets. Then a glee club sings "White Christmas" followed by singer Peggy King singing "I've Grown Accustomed to His Face" in front of the soldiers in the audience. Then Bob and Ginger do a song-and-dance routine finishing the show. This was a pretty entertaining Bob Hope special.
