Peter Falls In Love
Jimmy_the_Gent410 August 2020
Peter falls for Jan's pretty new friend Kerry.

A funny episode for both Peter and Greg. Jan introduces Kerry to Greg, Carol, Bobby and Cindy. When Peter meets her he has very funny reaction. In the funniest scene he tries to carry her books but he accidentally sprays her with water and covers her with mud. He is inspired by Cyrano de Bergerac and asks Greg to feed him lines outside of Kerry's window. He goofs it up and Kerry winds up falling for Greg instead. More funny moments when Greg tries to convince her he is a rat fink.

CYRANO DE BERGERAC GETS SHALLACKED!

For all of us super teen romanatics back in the day came this fab episode. It always reminded me of a teen version of LOVE, AMERICAN STYLE, written by Skip Webster, who did both comedy and cop shows. He was good at what he did.

Poor Peter has it bad for Jan's friend called Kerry (played by Kym Karath). Everything goes wrong when he meets her --he's such a well meaning klutz. Murphys Law on steroids. What to do? After more frustration... comes a clever idea. And actually it is. Greg "feeds" some romantic lines to Kerry beneath her window, and all Pete has to do is repeat them????

This scene is soooo LOVE, AMERICAN STYLE, and it's been done before with adults!

Greg is exposed and now Kerry thinks he's really stuck on her. What a tangled web these Bradys weave! What to do next? Part Deux. When you come down to it, there is only one scenario. Paint Greg to be the ultimate rat fink. "Oh, like you really are!" Peter exclaims.

BEST scene department: Marcia dons a black wig and shades, looking like a 70s Juliet without Romeo, and pretends she's just been jilted by Greg, which should finally, finally turn Kerry against him.

Stay tuned, folks....

Alice (with a bowl of popcorn) is joined by Mike and Carol to watch this teen soap opera unfold in grandiose scale. What else to do on a Friday night, right?

Kym Karath (whose real name is Karathanasis, of Greek heritage), began acting when she was three years old, her claim to fame being cast as one of the children in the SOUND OF MUSIC. She is very good in this role, and so is Chris Knight, you feel so sorry for him. We've all been in his shoes!

Not to be missed. From SEASON 4 EPISODE 5, remastered ABC/Paramount dvd box set.
