More relaxed than most episodes

John Drake's Mission: Determine whether or not a defecting scientist is who she claims to be with the help of her long lost sister being held inconveniently, in some Eastern European country.

The Sisters is an enjoyable enough episode that kept me guessing (correctly this time) all the way to the end. Drake is convinced that one of the sisters isn't who she claims to be, but how to find out? Drake devises a solution that, while it may be simple, is a pleasure to watch unfold. The final revelation is nicely handled. As usual, good performances from all involved. It's always nice to see Anthony Dawson pop-up in something like Danger Man.

As another reviewer pointed out, The Sisters is the first episode I can remember with "filler". While it did provide a chance to see John Drake in a more relaxed and different light, I would have preferred more scenes of the escape from whatever the name of that Eastern European country was. That section of The Sisters could have used some beefing-up.

Overall, a 7/10 from me.

Nadia is a professor seeking asylum in the West. However, no one is sure she actually is who she says she is. So, they get her sister out from behind the Iron Curtain. However, it's soon obvious at least one of them isn't who they claim to be--the problem, which one is the fake? Not surprisingly, it's up to Drake to figure out a way to trap the impostor or impostors.

"The Sisters" is not a particularly distinguished episode. It isn't really bad--just not up to the usual quality of the rest of the shows. My complaint is that, for once, the plot is a bit thin and talky. Usually there's too much in 30 minutes! However, it ended well and certainly was no embarrassment to the series.

Masterful Drake

Pat as John Drake never seemed more self-assured, capable and downright smug as here, outsmarting everyone and solving a thorny mystery with aplomb.

The issue is to make a positive identification of a defector scientist played by the great Mai Zetterling, as she or her purported younger sister is lying. Pat has to prove who is a fake and he's uncanny -even to the extent of praising himself for his abilities.

Tight direction by Seth Holt makes this one fly by without any dull spots. Zetterling bring great presence to her role, but doesn't have the opportunity to create a multi-dimensional character.
