Testing on humans, to create new strains of everything. I wonder why it is one of the lowest rated episodes, because the second half of season one was always my favorite. « Shorties in Love » is a very entertaining episode, in which Original Cindy, one of the most colorful Dark Angel characters, is the main focus. It also has a special place in my heart, because it's the one and only season one episode I taped on TV. And watched countless times, before the series was edited on DVD. The Max/Logan relationship is blooming and is becoming intimate there, in a more courteous and personal manner. Which made the show more mature than most targeted to teenagers. The dig at greedy pharmaceutical companies also raised a more adult problematic in the writing. And I love that about those « old » shows, they have different degrees of interpretation depending your age and experience, with timeless topics and sharp writing. The soundtrack was very fitting too, and had those Melky Sedeck songs adding to the love in post apocalyptic world, feel of the overall episode. This, « Pollo Loco » and « meow » are a must watch of what remains of 1B.
