Diagnosis Murder finds its feet
safenoe8 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I think Diagnosis Murder is a product of the Clinton Administration, whereas Murder, She Wrote is progeny of Reagan-Bush definitely. Murder, She Wrote had a last gasp for survival by trying to await the outcome of the 1996 presidential election, but when it became clear Clinton would beat GOP candidate Dole, it was lights out for Jessica.

Here Ken "Dallas" Kercheval makes an appearance, and we learn Steve is in law school, studying on top of his job as a cop. This is in the fine tradition of police studying law. Just like nurses studying law. Interestingly, not many lawyers study nursing.

Good fun

A tyrant media boss is murdered after making threats against the hospital for his knee pain; he is injected with an overdose of his regular medication via his toe, hence the pun title of this bouncy episode. Due to an accident in the hospital, Dr Sloan is bed-bound and later in crutches, so most of the detective work is left to his yawning son, Jack and Amanda - and there's four suspects, played by John Rubinstein, Amy Steel, Wendy Philips and Christine Belford.
