Interesting war drama
searchanddestroy-119 January 2016
Don't expect a war story with plenty of action, but rather an interesting psychological point of view. Robert Webber gives here a better performance, at least different from those he showed in the other films which he played in. Look out for his performance as this soldier interrogating a female prisoner about a mine field. Telly Savalas is very intriguing too, but a character that suits him well, a sort of sweet evil officer. I would say this is an anti war drama that makes us asking about the meaning of war, his whereabouts. I guess this takes place during war in Korea. But in this story, the soldiers wear desert war uniforms, and I did not know that there were Asian born prisoners with a desert warfare background...

Directed by the good film maker Ralph Nelson.
