This episode of the Donna Reed Show which did not normally favor guest stars has Donna getting into a fender bender with singer Tony Martin and his son. Both have to go to Traffic Court.
Tony and Tony, Jr. played by Roger Mobley wind up as guests in Donna Reed's home where Tony treats them to a version of Wrap Your Troubles In Dreams. I remember this because it was my first introduction to the song stylings of Tony Martin.
Sadly this episode brings to mind something truly sad. The 98 year old Tony Martin lost the real Tony, Jr. last year at the age of 60. Roger Mobley of course is still alive and he's a year older than Tony, Jr. in real life.
Tony Martin made very few appearances on series television, hopefully some nostalgia channel will pick up The Donna Reed Show and we can see Tony with the ersatz Tony, Jr. aka Roger Mobley.
