Bud becomes a big football star and gets a big write up in the local paper praising his athletic abilities. Of course he gets a "big head", buys a zillion newspapers which he not only sleeps with, but plasters all over his bedroom room. His disgustingly goody two shoes family, gives him a going over for his inflated ego. Bud admits to breaking training curfew to his coach who then suspends him from playing on the team for one game. The whole thing is totally ridiculous and stupid. Why would his family put him down for being a football star. Why would a coach suspend his star player because he wasn't home by nine at night. Preachy episode about following the rules and being a good sport. The whole thing gave me a headache, yet I was entertained by the whole mess, go figure.

Bud tries out for place kicker on the school football team.
A very good Bud episode. Funny scenes in the beginning as he practices his kicking in the driveway with Kathy as the holder. One kick ruins the family dessert. Bud gets better with his kicking and gets his picture in the paper even before he plays a game. His coach gives him strict training rules. When he breaks one, Jim advises him to tell the coach. Bud is surprised by the coach's reaction. See the episode, it has a good ending.
