Best Foot Forward

It is almost like an episode of Last of the Summer Wine. A show in which Brian Murphy would later appear in as a regular.

George breaks his leg as he borrows Jeffrey Fourmile's ladder to fix the tv aerial. Only for an angry Jeffrey to grab it without telling George.

In hospital a fellow patient tells George that he should sue Jeffrey. This leaves Jeffrey Fourmile a worried man and he tries hard to be nice to George.

Later as George and Jeffrey escape Tristram's birthday party. George's wheelchair causes mayhem as it goes out of control.

George really is a fish out of water in the new housing estate. Everyone is so snooty, I am sure George is pleased to give some of them a push.

Some rude bits are alluded to. George made a joke about a nun and a banana. Then there is a rude limerick written on his plaster cast. Then George loses control of his wheelchair as he tries to grab a girlie magazine.

Geoffrey is pushed to the limits by the pickled onion juggler next door that is George Roper, fed up of him borrowing his things, Geoffrey takes his ladder back, unfortunately George is at the top of it. Also, it's Tristan's birthday.

A pretty amusing episode I thought, several laughs throughout, once again George manages to embarrass his socially upward neighbour, that pub scene was fun, best of all Tristan's party, what could be worse when you're trying to watch the racing.

The way George manipulates poor Geoffrey is funny, with threats of court appearances and British Justice, he really was a proper little mercenary.

If only we'd gotten to see George juggling those pickled onions, and a shame we didn't get to see exactly what was written on his foot.

Funny, 7/10.
