I'm on my first rewatch of the series and I clearly remember how I wasn't particularly a fan of this episode. To me, it seemed like a filler subplot just to drag out the story. However, after watching it for the second time whilst knowing how the story and the events will develop later on, I quite enjoyed it.

This episode does a great job at not only setting up the conflict that is about to blow up, but also provides us with an interesting showcase of life on the imperial side of galaxy and the mentality of people who live there. It also gives a bit of development to Kessler, a pretty important figure among Reinhardt's men. I didn't particularly care for him during my first watch, but now after knowing how this character's story develops, his little miniarc in this episode is actually quite interesting and correlates really well with the later events.
