Kinch to the front

Really like the episode with Ivan Dixon in a main role. A trip to Paris to save the city is always a good idea.

Historic Episode in 1967
Shakaama13 January 2022
Most people today will not realize how historic this episode was.

In this episode a Black man takes lead, on prime time T. V. in 1960 America. Black men are being hanged in trees, at the time, and even this very same lead Black actor, off stage is suffering unimaginable racism, to such extent he later leaves the country, never to return. But, Hogan's Heroes places him not just in the leading role, but playing opposite a Black actress / singer, who is the girlfriend of a very white actor (in character), and to top it all off, the white lead actor, Bob Crane, plays backseat to the Black actor.

This and the Black actress kissing, white actor on Star Trek is one of 3 of the most historic TV episodes in history.

When watching this, one has to appreciate what you are witnessing, and appreciate what that small crew did for Black people and America.

Keep the faith, Baby

One of my favorite HH's episodes partly due to the seance scene, and mostly thanks to the larger role for Ivan Dixon. Too bad he wasn't featured in more episodes.

Never could get into this silly story
kfo949416 August 2014
In this silly episode, Hogan and Kinch will hitch a ride to Paris in order to find out where some TNT is kept that is going to be used to blow up Paris. The plans of where the TNT is kept, is in the hands of General Hammerschlag and there lies the problem.

It just so happens that a woman singer that Kinch went to high school with is a favorite of the General. So they get her to lead him into some funky séance where Hogan can talk with the dead. With the General interested, this may be where the information could be obtained.

For about the fourth straight episode, the story was far-fetched and not very entertaining. And with funny lines few and far between it just did not lead to a interesting show. Never got into the story.
