Tool Men on Ice.

Warning: Spoilers
Following a riveting Tool Time where Tim and Al present solutions for stuck doors, Al asks Tim if he'll accompany him to Saginaw Bay that weekend to look over some property he's interested in buying. Marv the unseen cameraman is looking to sell his ice fishing shanty. Tim advises him not to buy it and asks why he can't go with Ilene. Al says because this weekend, Ilene will be at the house with Jill, having an adult equivalent of a slumber party: talking about their guys and removing "unnecessary body hair." At that prospect, Tim agrees to come along. So they finally arrive at the shanty, perched on a frozen lake in the middle of nowhere. Thankfully it's insulated and comes equipped with a heater. Al falls in love with the shack, calling it "paradise on ice", while Tim isn't quite as excited. He immediately unpacks his little TV to help break up the monotony, and he gives Al some hand cleaner that smells like saw dust. Now that they're settled in, Al wants to do some fishing. The hole in the center of the cabin is frozen over, so he and Tim have to chisel away the ice, and in the process, he loses Al's great grandfather's chisel.

So while Jill, Marie and Ilene wax their upper lips, watch movies and talk about nothing but their husbands, Al gets some fishing in and Tim just watches his TV, complaining of bad reception. When it's halftime, Tim decides to widen their fishing hole, so the dumbkopf stood on the ice as he chipped it away with a crowbar, and predictably fell through into the subzero water. Fortunately, he didn't catch hypothermia, but he'd neglected to bring a change of clothes with him, so Al lent him his extra pair, so now Tim has to walk around in baggy flannel. Since the whole trip seems to have gone pear-shaped, they decide to pack it in. Al feeling disappointed that yet ANOTHER attempt at bonding with Tim didn't work out. But as if that weren't bad enough, Tim seems to have lost the car keys when he fell through the ice. So, let's check in with the girls: waxing their legs and talking about their dream beau. Riveting. Let's go back to the guys: Tim is farting around with the shanty heater, while Al somehow got word to Wilson that they were stranded, so he's on his way to help. He arrives promptly, bringing Tim's extra set of keys, and he even has some fish. Turns out the lake was ripe with'em, so how come Tim and Al didn't catch any? Well, remember the saw dust scented hand cleaner Tim brought? It's fish repellent. A surly Al goes to pack the car, while Wilson gives him some words of wisdom on friendship being a two-way street. Seriously, is there anything this man can't do? So he and Al get to talking as they leave the shanty...But oops, Tim left the heater on. I hope Marv had fire insurance on that thing. On the up side, Tim learns an interesting fact about Al and why he wears flannel: as a young boy, he helped out his father in his shop where it was really cold, so he put flannel shirts on him to keep him warm. To cap off the night, Tim eats some fondue, which was actually warm leg wax.

This was a good one. Pretty funny too. Tim and Al make quite a pair, much in common, but yet some much different. It's funny how their attempts at bonding always seem to fall through...and this one did literally. Not much more I can say about Reel Men, except to check it out. Plenty of funny moments, like Tim falling through the ice and having to wear Al's clothes, and of course Jill and the girls waxing themselves. What's not to like? It might also be good to watch on a hot day.
