Takes a step in a different direction.

This episode steps away from the usual clean-cut image of the series and into a "darker" realm-at least in terms of classic sitcoms! There's a seance with Ricky's boss, wherein Lucy contacts what she believes is his wife. Of course, she plays one voice, but another ghastly voice also answers with an added twist at the end. There isn't a lot of full-on comedy in this one, but the story is very well-developed and everyone did an excellent job with the comedic timing.

Meet Ethel the medium. She's psychopathic.

Warning: Spoilers
With Lucy and Ethel getting into horoscopes, it's only a matter of time before they cause trouble for Ricky and end up performing a seance so Lucy can help Ricky fix a broken deal. Jay Novello plays Mr. Merriwhether who has a deal for Ricky to appear in a Broadway show, so Lucy and Fred end up as the voices of the two that he wants to contact from the great beyond. It's a very funny show with Lucy crossing everything to assure Ricky that she's out to help him honestly, and awkwardly trying to walk. I did Vivian Vance has some funny moments in her medium costume, and even with a throwaway line, "Ethel to Tilly. Come in Tilly" shows why she was the best second banana on TV.

Not a typical episode

Warning: Spoilers
Not the typical ILL episode but it's not unusual for a comedy to experiment with astrology, numerology and seances . This episode does all three . Like many people who dabble in it Lucy and Ethel become scared when they think it's a little more real !

The theater producer offering Ricky a job and he has the least egotistical nature I have ever seen for someone of that profession in a fictional setting. Clearly they like to go for the usual stereotype here he's much milder . He also has similar interest with Lucy and Ethel's current obsession. This ends up working to Ricky's advantage in getting a job with this producer.

Funniest part is Lucy and Fred doing the two different voices and don't know the other is doing it and think it's the real other worldly voice.

Ethel through Tili...Ethel through Tili...come in

Warning: Spoilers
Numerology and spiritual in one show is insane in a good way. My favorite joke is "I'm a 1, I'm a 3, I'm a 5 . . . We're all odd aren't we?" Those set up, set up, jokes I miss. Lucy impersonates a dog and Fred impersonates a dead wife. Ethel dressed up as a madam medium. It's a weird episode but I don't mind.
