Jan vows to give up dating, until a repair man fixing the restaurant's kitchen fan asks her out;. Sonny's classic car bites the dust; Amy lies to Nancy so she can attend a rodeo; Howard asks Cassie for advice when his Friend-with-Benefits wants to go away for the weekend.

It's great that the writers are trying to give all the characters things to do, but not so great because none of these plots are really developed beyond a few amusing jokes. It's too bad this seems to be the series template for the syndicated era. It's getting harder to review these episodes when there's very little of substance.

Jan hits it off with Richie and after a whirlwind courtship he proposes to her. Jan makes a funny remark about those "weird looking couples who don't do well on the Newlywed Game" and accepts.

There is too much going on for a 21 ½ minute sitcom. The bonding scenes that were so great in Season 1 seem to just be throwaway lines by this point. Cassie talks Jan into dating Richie and is the one who Jan confides in when she falls in love with him. Sadly, all of this is covered in just a few seconds.

The best parts are when Sonny performs a mashup of "Little GTO" and "Taps" in memory of his car and when Dot uses Cassie's sexy sales pitch to get a customer to order roast beef.

Richard Kline was much funnier as sleaze ball Larry on THREE'S COMPANY. He and Jan will become two of the least entertaining characters on this show.
