Sonny saves the life of singer Jack Jones and wangles a Vegas engagement out of it; Nancy wants a commitment from Howard but he doesn't want to be exclusive.
The Jack Jones plotline where Sonny saved his life is kind of silly, but the rest of the episode sets up one of the biggest events to occur in the series. We learn Sonny is blacklisted in Vegas but Jack scores him a three-day gig at Chuck's Game Land. Jack sings a boring easy-listening song at the restaurant that goes on way too long and brings the episode down.
Nancy asks Jan for advice about Howard and is told "He can't have it both ways" so Nancy's off to Vegas with Jack. The wardrobe for Nancy in this episode seems very tame and tasteful compared to what she usually wears. Her basic black dress is very classy.
We learn that Jan and Richie have bought a new house via a throwaway line.
