This Kojak story shows that stamp collectors are a breed apart. Three people are killed in a struggle to possess a pair of rare Greek stamps one of which was stolen from the courier who smuggled it in from Athens and was shot to death for his trouble.

The machinations of Ivor Francis and Norman Lloyd are what drive this story. Like the matched set of stamps we get a matched set of performances from these two noted character players.

Who would dream that stamp collecting could be so dangerous. What some won't do to pursue their hobbies.

When A Hobby Becomes An Obsession
ccthemovieman-115 February 2012
Ever know anyone obsessed with their hobby? Well, you'll see one here, a guy so obsessed about his stamp collection that his mind is totally twisted. So is the crook who's trying to sell the stamp to him.

It all starts with a reunion of sorts when a Greek ship docks and a pretty woman is waiting to meet her lover. You know something is up when she arrives with two other men. What ensues is pretty dramatic. What ensues a short time later is dramatic, too, as dead bodies start to pile up.

This is another great episode in this second season, which is far superior to the first season of Kojak. As this season has gone, the episodes seem to be getting better and better.

There are some performances in here, notably by Ivor Francis as the stamp collector "Henry Keilor," and by actor/singer Gale Garnett as "Elaine Kastos."
