Reviving the old feud
bkoganbing29 December 2017
A member of a family that once had a running feud with the Sherman clan is accidentally shot by his own weapon on Sherman land. The father is a bitter old patriarch who has been nursing a grudge against the Shermans for years. Henry Hull convinces himself that Slim Sherman shot his kid in the back and he's now gunning for him.

In the tradition of the old ways he challenges John Smith to a straight out stand up duel with old fashioned pistols, no fast draw for Hull. Smith does his very best to avoid it, in the end he can't.

I have to say this given Hull's nature and he is a standout in the role of a bitter old man what John Smith does really requires some guts. I think very few of us would have handled it the way he did.

Bates House

Filmed at Universal Studios, I'm pretty sure the house Parkison lived in in the beginning of this episode is the Bates house used in Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho".

it was a great series but

And it would have been way better without robert crawford jr ... just a little snot nosed child that did nothing but get in the way of everyone ... he constantly whined about everything , ie: trying to make a pet of a wolf cub after being told not to do it, yet he persisted ... slim was not a good brother ... he should have been paddled good ... this episode was a waste of everyone's time
