Neville Brand might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he spots this ghost scam mighty quickly when he stops at the small town of Small Chance to get out of the rain.
The population has all but deserted small chance leaving only saloon keeper Jeanne Cooper, telegraph operator Shug Fisher, two recently discharged soldiers Edward Binns and Ted Cassidy. Ranger Reese Bennett arrives in time for the sheriff's murder. His arrival puts a crimp in someone's plans.
Later on Robert Wolders arrives looking for Brand who is by now a prisoner. The bad ones are sorted pretty quickly though Brand needs some rescuing.
Wolders and Brand are quite a contrast as always and make this episode worth a look.
