Out for the day.....on day release?
Sleepin_Dragon19 August 2021
Nora Batty is doing her bit for the locals, insisting on giving first aid, and organising days out for the old folks.

There are a few humorous moments, it's far from a classic, but there are a few funny one liners, and the scenario itself is pretty bizarre, I love how they're taking out someone 'elderly '

I do love how bossy Nora Batty is, even when dressed in a Nurse's uniform, she's somehow more severe and more terrifying.

One or two jokes were a bit more risque for Summer Wine, truly joking about Nora's nighty.

Amusing 6/10.

An Apple a Day

Nora Batty is still dressing up as a first aid nurse. She is also doing community work. Volunteering for old people or should it be people even older than her.

Even Auntie Wainwright does her bit for the elderly. Free valuations so she can pick up some good antiques on the cheap.

Compo and Truly are despatched by Nora to take elderly Bert for an outing from his farm. Only to discover that the entire family seem to be infantilized.

When Bert's lad disappears, Truly, Compo and Entwistle go looking for him. Only for the lad to steal Entwistle's truck.

The lad is an old man himself. He has this trick of offering an apple to a lady in exchange for a kiss. Especially when the lady happens to be Marina.

Bert tries the same trick with an apple on Nora Batty and then changes his mind.

It is a different type of episode from Roy Clarke. Different from his usual box of tricks in the 21st century Summer Wine period. I do wonder if there was a dark subtext here about country folk and close family relations.

"Why don't you take up something less dangerous like euthanasia?"

Warning: Spoilers
Yorkshire = More Barmpots Than You Can Shake A Stick At.

Nora Batty not one to get dressed up for owt or do owt for nowt certainly not even Wally, is actually going out dressed up as nurse.

Something that would have had Compo in a lather just think about it.

And she's taken to forcing good deeds on folks, and press ganging neighbours into enlisting. So what's to do?

Pearl is certainly a stranger to hospitality for anyone other than herself or her fellow female sourpusses, so what's she doing lending anyone a helping hand?
