Proud To Be An American
hogwrassler7 February 2021
The Ranger is suspicious of a traveling French singer named Marianne Mornay and her troupe. Every time she appears in a town, robberies occur during her concerts. The troupe consists of Marianne, her manager Sam Dewitt, publicity man Rex Miller and his assistant Zeke. That's more than enough to commit the crimes. When The Ranger confronts the mademoiselle in her hotel suite, she confesses that she is really just Maggie Moran from Watsonville, Kansas. Dewitt convinced her that American audiences would only pay to see a foreign singer, never an American, so she adopted the phony persona. Maggie/Marianne isn't in on the stealing, and so the gang considers her expendable. Can The Ranger and Tonto figure a way to expose and capture these rascals? And does Maggie have the courage to tell her audience who they have really been listening to sing? This is a good episode about the importance of just being who you are. There isn't any actual singing though, just the usual western series action of a little gunplay and fisticuffs.
