Men in Hoods

The Ranger and Tonto are after The Hooded Gang, three outlaws who are terrorizing the town of Woodstock. Tonto is in Ruby's Golden Horseshoe Cafe (no saloons here) when the gang holds it up and gets away, killing one customer. It turns out that the robbery was a fake, and Ruby is actually the brains of the gang. Sheriff McNeil and Deputy Allen are duped into believing that our heroes are the outlaws. The Ranger will have to do some fast thinking to reveal the truth in this episode. Maybe those hoods the outlaws wear could be the opening needed to reveal the truth to the sheriff?

Denver Pyle plays Deputy Allen. In this episode, he wears his holster so low it looks like it's about to fall down at any moment. Walter Sande makes another of his seven appearances on the LR series. He was in the second and third episodes of season 1, the three parter which introduced The Ranger and Tonto. Sande played Sheriff Two Gun Taylor in those episodes.

This is an excellent season 2 episode with lots of good dialogue and action.
