Kelly becomes a cheerleader if only for one game!
Sylviastel28 May 2009
There are lot of offensiveness in this episode particularly when James Polk High football team competes against the other team with unusual German names. I didn't pay much attention to that. Kelly wants the Polk high player to pay attention to her instead of the game so she and Bud come up with a plan to become a cheerleader. The guy is a goal away and a championship away from breaking Al's beloved record. It's interesting to see the Bundys and Rhoades at the game. Al is mistaken for the Grange who played there. Kelly first gets the job by auditioning for Ms. Mount who has sleepovers with the cheerleaders at her house. Bud gets in on the game as a water boy.

'I like her. I like her a lot.'

First there was Peggy's maiden name, and now a reverand by the name of Felcher. They've got to be doing it in purpose...

This episode is a great one for fans of Christina Applegate: she looks great in a figure-hugging off-the-shoulder top and black skirt, and later shakes her pom-poms as a cheerleader, the girl desperately trying to get the attention of Polk High football player Matt (Beau Dremann).

Meanwhile, Al is worried that his glory days are over, Matt possibly beating Al's record-breaking score.

Watching Al sweat it out as the final game of the season takes place is a lot of fun, as is Bud acting as waterboy, squirting water on cheerleaders' tops for a cheap thrill. Also very funny is deep-voiced female gym teacher Ms. Mount, who is eager to get the girls over to her place for a post-game slumber party.
