During a robbery, Capt. Greer ends up shooting and killing one of the perps. To de-stress, he vacations at an upscale lodge and hits it off with a lovely female guest, played by Laraine Stephens. But one of the robbers has tailed Greer there and definitely has revenge on his mind. Greer starts having 'Nam-like flashbacks, hallucinations and what looks like a heart attack.
Once it became clear this was going to be a Greer-centric episode with our trio pushed to the background, I didn't think it would be any good - like when CHARLIE'S ANGELS put Bosley in the spotlight. But this is actually one of the better offerings of Season 4 so far.
I'll admit I saw the twist coming about half-way through, reasoning "If something's too good to be true, it probably is". Stephens has a memorable meltdown scene that's a little campy. This episode would have been a bit better if Julie had decked her!
There are some fun small moments, like seeing an almost unrecognizable Julie in a dark wig; the perps' van looking exactly like SCOOBY DOO's Mystery Machine; and seeing Jean Byron back on the small screen - in a small part - five years after THE PATTY DUKE SHOW ended. Her headband-and-flip-do is exactly what Patty was wearing back in 1964.
