Living in fear about things over which we have no control
kevinolzak17 October 2016
"Alas, Poor Mork, We Knew Him Well" opens with a sleazy insurance salesman (Will Porter) putting Mork into a state of terror, Mindy driving him off with the knowledge that Mork is penniless. Now he's panicking about all types of natural disasters raining down on his head. Unwilling to vacation with Mindy in Yellowstone, Mork shuts himself off inside a bubble in her living room, a place where he can be safe. Now Mindy is afraid, for Mork: "I guess something's finally come between us, huh?" Glenda Faye (Crissy Wilzak) figures Mindy should look at Mork as a big guppy: "just be grateful you don't have to clean that tank!" Gathering together at Mindy's for Mork's going away party, Nelson (Jim Staahl) and Glenda bring refreshments, Bickley a funeral wreath, all with Mork watching from his transparent prison. The testimonials have the desired effect, as Mork emerges from his shell to live again, concluding with another kiss from Mindy, just like the first season.
