A pom pom shaking experience

"Hold That Mork" provides evidence that life after Raquel Welch could actually get worse, as the infamous episode in which Mork successfully tries out for the Denver Broncos cheerleading squad, better known as the Pony Express (on location for the Mile High Stadium contest on Nov. 11, 1979, a 45-10 thrashing of the New England Patriots). The girls drop in at Remo's delicatessen while Nelson Flavor tries to come up with ideas to enliven an already limp campaign, hitting on discrimination if the team refuses to accept a male cheerleader. Someone may have desired to see Robin Williams attired in the same skimpy outfit as the genuine cheerleaders, but it's no wonder that 50,000 screaming fans saw their idol run off the field with stage fright. A decided lack of funny lines and as much ogling as expected from 'THREE'S COMPANY in outer space.' Returning from the episode "It's a Wonderful Mork" is actress Linda Henning of PETTICOAT JUNCTION, this time as the inclusive coach of the Pony Express.
