WHERE WERE YOU WHEN I NEEDED YOU!

Top comedy writer George Tibbles did not write for Lucille Ball, but this episode has an I LOVE LUCY feel There was an early episode where Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel are all arrested --and this is very, very similar and just as hilarious. Also, the cast is perfect for this type of wacky stuff.

10 Plus Stars.

Robbie goes away on camp maneuvers... and that in itself is the lure here. First off, Katy, who cannot be with him, does the next best thing and stays at a nearby motel. Makes good sense, right? She decides to go for a little walk (but, of course) and gets herself arrested!

Just watching her in this type of predicament is outrageous, she is such a good natured person. The most innocent person on the planet, so it seems.

We all loved Katie.

Next, we have Uncle Charley, Chip and Ernie who decide to go camping nearby... and guess what happens. Charley, like Katie, is yet another perfect foil for such bizarro circumstances. Just crazy stuff.

Last but not least... good old Steve wanders into the mess (actually trying to save everybody) and is also a casualty. Best of it is watching Fred MacMurray be Fred MacMurray. He steals the show. There are so many chuckles here, likened to a dark comedy. This is A-plus writing.

Look for William Boyett, playing the captain. Boyett generally played cops and authority figures throughout his lengthy career in movies and tv. Again, one of those fine character actors you've seen a million times, but never knew his name.

Thank you, Mr. Tibbles, who also wrote some classic stories for LEAVE IT TO BEAVER.

A must, must see. SEASON 8 EPISODE 23 remastered.
