Every once in a while, there would be a telling story on MY THREE SONS. This is one of them. Robbie falls in love with an exchange student called Denise (played by Mariana Hill). He is soooo ready for marriage, that is until he learns his friend asked her first, and he's left standing at the alter. Young love can be tough, even in TV LAND.
Well written by Edmund Beloin, who wrote six episodes for the series. He was quite famous, writing GI BLUES for Elvis and many films for Bob Hope, such as MY FAVORITE BRUNETTE.
This episode was twofold, rather solemn behind the scenes when series director James V. Kern passed suddenly. He directed a record 99 episodes, also many classics for I LOVE LUCY. A big loss in Hollywood.
Mariana Hill shows off her talent in this one, a master of dialects, who acquired this gift when she travelled around the world with her father, a building contractor. Mariana's best known role was as Deanna Corleone in THE GODFATHER, PART II.
