Hal's in, the Professor's out
mlbroberts20 September 2021
Hal decides to surprise his father by entering the junior flight of the faculty golf tournament, but he's not very good at golf, until Nanny comes up with very old wooden golf clubs that belonged to her great uncle in Scotland. Somehow, the golf clubs manage to get Hal into the final round of the junior flight, while his father loses out and doesn't make it to the final round of the adult flight. The Professor tries to teach Hal how to play golf "the right way," only to realize almost too late that he's trying to play that final round of golf he missed out on through his son. All looks like it will work out, until someone in a golf cart runs over the old wooden golf clubs Hal has been relying on and Hal has to play the final round of the tournament with modern clubs. Not the best of the series, but the lesson is learned - let your kids be themselves, and don't try to live what you missed out on through them.

Hal, the Golfer
JordanThomasHall28 June 2017
Hal (David Doremus) is learning to play golf for the junior faculty tournament. He wishes to surprise his father, Professor Everett (Richard Long), by it, but is having difficulty. Nanny (Juliet Mills) mysteriously produces an antique golf club that belonged to her great uncle Harlan McTavish- a champion player at The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews. The club looks rough, but Hal instantly begins performing very well with it. At the opening round of the 21st Annual Faculty Match Play Tournament, Hal surprises his dad with his driving swing. Now, his father wants to teach him the other aspects, and has devoted the whole week to him in advance of the junior tournament. It becomes overwhelming for Hal to the point he calls to drop out of the tournament. Now, the professor sees he was trying to live through his son and sets out to make things right.
