A musical version of "Norma Rae"?

Warning: Spoilers
While a very funny series in general, the series was best when it was being irreverent, spoofing over-the-top fashions and filled with cultural references, it lacked real flare when it tried to be topical. This episode, dealing with Maxwell crossing a picket line after the premiere of his new musical, ends up with them being guests on Sally Jesse Raphael, and Maxwell being exposed for his hypocrisy. The episode has a few funny moments, most notably the misprint of Miss Babcock's name and brighten being punished for attempting to go to a mall in New Jersey through subterfuge between Maxwell and Fran, told he could not go to the premiere of the three and a half hour one act musical. The episode also drops the name of a current political bigwig, apparently then a child, as having a playdate with Gracie. Fran's Crayola crayon style dress gets a big round of applause when she makes her first entrance, but in truth, it's probably one of the ugliest outfit she wore on the series.
