Dick sends in a manuscript with an old pen name and it is rejected by a young copy editor. He begins to doubt his ability, afraid he has been getting by on his name rather than his talent. This leads to an intense effort to get published. He ends up in a dive bar, playing pool, and drinking limeades. There is a subplot when a cheapskate family shows up trying to reduce the rate of stay. They have a boy who looks like he's about fourteen. They claim he will be five on his next birthday. Anyway they are really a piece of work. I I weren't tuned to the comedy I would have told them where the nearest inn was that they could check into. When they tip Stephanie, a dollar for two weeks, she says, "Excuse me while I check to see if you have air in your tires."

An OK episode as Dick constantly gets rejected under his pen name. A funny scene takes place in a dive bar where Dick plays pool and impresses the seedy customers. There is also a funny guest subplot of a very cheap family who keeps trying get discounts on their bill
