What a sweet and surprising episode. We have two plots in this one: 1) Art, the janitor, needs a date for a local anual contest and asks for Christine to be her date, who firstly rejects him but ends up accepting the invitation. 2) Dan lost a file named "My Dog, Sparky" , a computer file belonging to Mac, a file that ends up spread in the Court. First of all, I didn't really care for the whole Mac story here, I thought it was just filling for the main storyline and althought it showed a pretty ending it was kind of pointless, it didn't really do anything for me, as I didn't find either the premise or execution very funny or interesting. Now let's talk about the part which, for me, makes this go from a possible 3/4 rating to a solid 7. Art has always been a minor, very minor part of Night Court, he always shows himself as a clumsy type of person, and with not many brain cells to his name, however in this episode we learn that he has feelings for Christine, and although the part of the contest was ok, but nothing special. The scene between Art and Christine in the court room afterwards, probably ranks as one of my top favorite scenes of this season of Night Court. Wonderfully acted by Mike Finneran and by Markie Post (she always excells) , I kind of wished they would form some kind of relationship, because it would really work, so sweet and so sad ending for this story, but a realistic one at that. 7/10 ******* Peter Shelby
