I guess the writers of "Romy & Michelle" didn't see this movie.

Warning: Spoilers
An oft repeated story in sitcoms has Harvey Korman showing up for his class reunion (right in the middle of the hotel!) and pretending to be more successful than he is. Of course, he is confronted by nightmares from his past including the class bully and the girl he loved who ended up marrying the class bully. Richard McConagle and Janice Lynde ( billed in the closing credits but not credited here) play that couple, Bentley and Maureen Bostwick.

Gerrit Graham play another officious New York official, a fire inspector determined to site the hotel for all sorts of violations yet finding himself foiled by the staff, mostly Ms. Frick (Cloris Leachman) who even gets to expose his lack of manhood after seeing him undressed. It's an amusing episode but predictable, and even if it is a little sappy in regards to Korman's insecurities, it's satisfying as far as reunions revenge goes. The presence of a Pope John Paul II look alike seems out of place but I'm going to just assume that it was a class member who decided to play a prank by showing up dressed in disguise.
