The Safe Harbor (#3.11)

Warning: Spoilers
Summer wants to get Marissa back to their school and everyone starts helping. Even Taylor whose mom as it comes out was the driving force behind getting her out. Marissa first doesn't want to go as she doesn't want to abandon Johnny, so he lies that he got back into surfing competition. And Sandy is their parent advocate who uses the information on the judges junkie son to get Marissa back.

Great episode. It was funny but also had some wonderful sweet moments. Like the speech Sandy gave to the judge and the fact that he found him his son who disappeared. And I felt really bad for Johnny who came to listen to the verdict from behind the door, but yet I am very happy to see Marissa back. Of course not realistic as no board would let it slide by that student talk, even to each other (?) but still nice!

Warning: Spoilers
Ryan, Seth and Summer launch a campaign to get Marissa back into Harbor. With the help of Dr. Kim they get the board of trustees to hear the case. Will Marissa be permitted to return for her final semester? Is it me, or Marissa left her cell phone on the table after talking to Ryan? At Newport Union, in the first 17 minutes of this episode.

Ryan is getting more and more the intellectual look. He talks in many words, fancy words, more then he ever did. He's not really punching people, he uses his brain now. I love his metamorphosing.

Dr Roberts seems to be really cool, I don't understand how can he can get along with everybody, but Seth. Did he played water polo when he was younger? I believe this episode is more about human kindness and second chances. Taylor proves she has a good heart, Marissa has the friends that never let her down and even an ice heart like Judge Jim Mercer's can melt when it comes to faith in the youth.
