O & F invest in a restaurant
ksf-26 June 2012
Warning: Spoilers
** Spoilers ** Oscar wins big at the track, so they invest in a restaurant. (Funny to see them get out of the apartment so early on in the show's run.) Felix had known the restaurant owner back in the heat of battle at GuadalCanal. Things don't go well when Felix doesn't like how the kitchen is being run, and the head chef quits. Pat Morita (from the Karate Kid films) guest stars. Felix fills in as chef, while Oscar tries to be a good waiter… even Murray the cop fills in as "Tokyo Nose" (direct quote from the show…) Of course, it's all a fiasco, the customers walk out, and Felix learns his lesson. Episode from the second season, directed by Robert Birnbaum and George Tyne. Tyne had been blacklisted during the HUAC hearing days, and you will see a break in his Hollywood career between 1951 and 1962. Some weird connections with R. Birnbaum.... He would go on to be production manager with Cagney & Lacey, which starred Tyne Daly (George Tyne... see above).. and Birnbaum also produced episodes of Happy Days, on which Pat Morita also starred; its a SMALL world after all.
