The most poignant episode of the Series.

Three youngsters hold a Seance, one of them Jenny becomes affected by the events, after being accidentally hypnotised she starts remembering the past, of Witch Effie. Tom and Anne become involved.

I think there's a strong case for classing this as the most memorable episode in the series. The story itself is very strong, mixture of the occult and Science Fiction, it's a fantastic mix.

I particularly enjoyed Maggie James's character Jenny, she goes from being quite soft and sweet to being dark and wild when she's possessed by Effie. The Church scenes and final showdown works really well, I appreciate that the mental battle for Jenny looks a little old fashioned now, but this episode works extremely well. 9/10

Powers of Darkness

Jenny and her university friends have a séance and contact a spirit named Effie. A witch that was once burned to death.

Her boyfriend has a breakdown and ends up in the same hospital as Tom's brother and mutters strange things. Later he burns to death.

Jenny also gets accidentally hypnotised and regresses to Effie's past life.

Tom comes across Jenny and both of them see a vision that is linked with Drexel. Jenny and her friends are also linked to Roy Martindale.

This should had been a much better episode but again it is so uneven. The viewer are ahead of Tom regarding the links with Martindale.

There is some dark stuff with the spontaneous combustion and witchcraft. It should had been more spookier.
