I'll Retire to Bedlam
Prismark1023 August 2019
It is hard to believe so much can happen in a 30 minute sitcom. It really is out there, almost surreal in a twisted way.

It does feature a scene that was used in the trailers to promote the first series of the show.

Victor being stuck in a shed with bees buzzing outside, only to later see a Monster Raving Loony party candidate using his bathroom dressed as a bee.

JR Hartley being given the wrong glasses at the eye clinic so he ended up taking the wrong wife home.

Two characters with closed eyes talking to each other about surgical probes and that is before Victor ending up babysitting two tearaways.

No wonder poor Victor ends up having a rant at the Conservative by election candidate after having a close shave with a man who thinks he lives on the moon. It really was bedlam for him.

Unbelievable... In the best possible way.

Victor gets stuck in a shed and then has to baby sit.

Where do you even begin? This is thirty minutes of the most unbelievable, dark, hilarious humour of all time. It is joke after joke, scream out loud scene followed by another.

Victor is at his most sarcastic, sharpest, and not afraid to take action. I love the scene where he snaps Mr Parlsow's walking stick in half, he also hates people that pretend to need a stick.

So many amazing scenes, Victor tied up, the opticians, the hospital, So many, but nothing will ever beat the garden shed and the bees, the idea is so funny, so surreal, but the dialogue is out of this world, and the delivery is masterful.

That was a close shave wasn't it. 10/10
