Too Many Implausibles
Hitchcoc18 May 2014
This episode is nicely set up. It concerns a young woman who suffers from a syndrome that leaves her emotionless. In the face of great danger or possible joy, she does not react at all. She and people like her are being studied by a research fellow who believes he can treat this condition with a brain implant. He is quite cautious and is joined in his quest by another researcher, played by Michele Greene. The implant is placed in the brain and after a bit of uncertain results, the young woman begins to feel emotions (starting in the hospital when she uses the TV remote to change channels because she doesn't "like" the show she is watching). Eventually, she is placed with Greene in her apartment. She is overjoyed at her prospects. She even takes a shine to the young man she meets as she climbs the steps each day. Unfortunately, another set of tenants cause an issue for her. The woman, a bit of a wacko, tells the implant patient that she had been abducted by aliens once and experimented upon. Coincidentally, at this time our patient begins to hear voices and can't make them stop. She also sees alien figures and becomes hysterical. He greatest fear is that the doctor who did the implant will remove it and return her to her previous condition. He, indeed, does pose that threat. Unfortunately, toward the end, it gets beyond believable and I was greatly disappointed not by what happens, but by what we are expected to logically accept (even with a willing suspension of disbelief). Still, the concept is really fascinating, so I give it a mild recommendation.

WHEN THE MARTIANS COME FOR YOU
asalerno1010 June 2022
A woman who has suffered from panic attacks and a strange emotional syndrome has been subjected to a novel unprecedented surgical intervention, comes out of her recovery in a specialized Center and settles in her best friend's house with a view to restarting her life with normal. She meets a handsome neighbor with whom she strikes up a friendship, her life seems to be on the right track until suddenly she begins to suffer horrible hallucinations where she is persecuted by extraterrestrial beings who want to subject her to frightening experiments, all this makes the doctors doubt about her recovery. And about the success of the surgery she underwent. The story is entertaining, distressing and with a great ending.

Really enjoy most outer limits episodes

I really enjoy most Outer Limits episodes and this one is one of the better ones. Due to the time period these were produced they don't have the best "special effects" but they are entertaining and seem to try to provide something meaningful as far as sci fi can provide. The only ones I don't appreciate are the special episodes that try to cheaply use pieces of past episodes as fillers. Other than that, for the Comet Channel these are OK for free.
