This episode's shown quite a lot and it's easy to see why. It features Mojo Jojo getting defeated by the Powerpuff Girls over and over, so he decides to create some new adversaries for them to meet their matches. It starts off with him using snips, snails and puppy dog tails and throwing in Chemical X. He creates the evil male counterparts to the Powerpuff girls, the Rowdyruff boys! They are the ones who make this episode. It's interesting to see how Mojo escapes from prison.
I mean, they almost never show it anyway! When the boys and girls face off, it's some of the best fight scenes in the show. We get great synchronization of the two pairs. I think my favorite scene is this sequence that's only a few seconds long that just shows them fighting in random ways. Seriously, this scene is so brief, but it just shows the best action the show can offer with an uncoordinated fight. It's notable in that it's the closest the girls get to being truly defeated.
The girls are brought back by tears (cliched, I know) and defeat the boys by kissing them causing them to explode. They come back later, but that was the point that I stopped watching the show. It probably just worked better if they were one-shot villains. They were too powerful and had so much attitude you didn't want them to even come back. Okay, that one clip of them in "The City Of Clipsville" with the romantic teenage subtext was uh...nice? This was the show at its greatest moments of glory and was even the first full half hour episode showing it took longer than normal to contain this much awesomeness! ****
