Alan is moving in influential circles, dating Caroline Armitage, a beautiful socialite, from a good family, only he doesn't want Rigsby's presence at an intimate party.
There are no words to the sheer brilliance of Rossiter in this episode, the scene where he's showing Alan the social graces is just magical, his sense of timing is incredible, all done with a straight face. He never sent up the show, he played it for real.
The scene where Caroline's mother is at the Party is hilarious, Diana King is fantastic as the snobby potential mother in law to Alan. The banter between King and Rossiter is brilliant, some of those lines, 'Old red hat and no draws.'
A contender for best episode of the series.
