Frank Essex, a widower with a son in the hospital, robs a gambling operation to pay for the bills. He then goes on the run from both cops and criminals, unaware he is a bone marrow match to save his son's life.
An OK episode, interesting story with some twists. Farrell would later become most famous as BJ Hunnicut on M*A*S*H, replacing Wayne Rogers as Trapper. Michael James Wixted plays his son, he would also play Henry Fonda's son on the comedy-drama show The Smith Family. More interesting trivia has Farrell's real life wife Judy playing the wife of his best friend, future Charlie's Angel Cheryl Ladd has a bit part as a bank employee.
