"Fred's Cheating Heart" opens with a visit from the Heart Fund Man (Thalmus Rasulala, previously seen as Skeeter in "The Card Sharps"), who answers Lamont's questions about the vast number of heart attacks that his father suffers every day. In order to put an end to Fred's persistent fakery Lamont checks him into the hospital, where the ugly white nurse (Helen Verbit) would be enough to make any man sick! Fred cleverly switches charts with the ailing patient in the next bed, so that Lamont thinks that major surgery is necessary. Chief of surgery Dr. Jamison (Harry Basch) reveals exactly what's in store for unlucky Fred: "he's scheduled for removal of hemorrhoids!"
