Ugh this one was dragged down with the drama with the ex. Although it is good to see realistic divorce shannannianniigans. And i am really not a fan of Max replacing Diver as the mysterious quirky love interest keeping/ being kept at a distance. they should have found a better role for him vis a vis Laura.
I did like this portrait of Laura as trying to control her environment and not letting others naturally contribute or even decide on things. That rang too close to home for me. The more you control the worse things sometimes can be in the end. Let others also determine what the solution (e.g family life/ work group ) will be. The controlling parent/manager doesn't always know better. Treating kids like belongings also rang true to me. Of course she's better than the useless ex husband/sad sack/ poor little me man. To be fair, there is some benefit to the family/group to have that one person who takes responsibility and gets things done - thankless to be a "manager" not just at work but also at home.
