In "The Jimmy", George goes in on a business venture to sell training shoes with an idiosyncratic member of his gym who refers to himself in the third person. Elaine accidentally agrees to go on a date with Jimmy after getting confused by his way of speaking. The Yankee organization believes George is behind a string of thefts due to his constant sweating and talk of selling athletic goods via telephone. Jerry has a dentist appointment with Tim Whatley but begins to feel that the dentist office is becoming oddly sexualized. Kramer is mistaken for a mentally handicapped person after taking a heavy dose of Novocain. His ensuing drool causes the Jimmy to slip in the locker room and hurt himself.
The Jimmy is one of my favorite tertiary characters of Seinfeld. He makes me want to refer to myself in the third person. His upbeat, strange attitude is infectious and really adds a lot to this episode. Using Kramer's faux-portrayal as a mentally handicapped person for comedic effect isn't great by modern standards and something I doubt would fly on a sitcom released today. The character of Jimmy though is so great and overpowering that I can't help but adore this episode because of it.
