To say that Wayne Knight steals the show in this episode is an understatement if ever there was one...

Warning: Spoilers
What to say!? Wayne Knight is BRILLIANT as the ever so amazing Newman! And at last, there is an episode centered around Newman and Kramer, with arguably some of the funniest "Seinfeld" moments to date.

Jerry and George are again contacted by NBC for their project, and this time, they manage to succeed in convincing studios for a pilot episode. George's lie about losing his previous screenplay was brilliant and the way in his maneuvered out of that mess was wonderful! However, the episode is all about Newman and the bizarre wonder that is Wayne Knight! The scene at court was some of the most brilliantly timed comedy to date. Michael Richards and Wayne Knight feed off each other seamlessly!

"The Ticket" is a classic because of Wayne Knight and because of Newman.

The madness continues
MaxBorg8911 March 2009
The Ticket is an essential Season Four episode, seeing as it continues the story introduced in The Pitch and also shows Newman in one of his most "Newman" moments. Of course, for that to happen, Kramer would have to be involved somehow, which of course he is.

Having received a speeding ticket, Newman, being the cheap, scheming son of a gun he is, refuses to pay, and asks Kramer to be his witness in court. Kramer accepts, and the whole situation gets out of hand as a result. Meanwhile, "Crazy" Joe Davola shows no signs of abandoning his own insane scheme, and Jerry and George keep working on their "show about nothing pitch".

There are many things that make The Ticket a classic: it's tempting to single out any scene about the sitcom script as the best (I mean, Jerry writing a pilot where he and his friends play the lead roles and nothing happens in terms of plot: gotta love the in-joking here), but in this case, as indicated by the title, it's Michael Richards and Wayne Knight who steal the show, the former thanks to his penchant for absurd physical comedy, the latter with his knack for great one-liners and general ability to look absolutely evil. Of all the guest stars that contributed to making Seinfeld the best sitcom ever, Knight certainly is the best, or at least on par with the still unseen Jerry Stiller. And to think the character was originally played by Larry David...

The Pitch&The Ticket are both Classic episodes, that I love, as they crack me up every time I watch them!

Warning: Spoilers
(Plot). NBC executives approach Jerry to write a sitcom pilot. George joins him in the venture and Pitches a show about "nothing". Crazy Joe Davolta stalks Jerry and Kramer. Newman uses Kramer as a witness to try to get out of a speeding ticket.

The Pitch&The Ticket are both Classic episodes that I love, as they crack me up every time I watch them!. One of the funniest moments in the film for me is when Kramer gets kicked in the had by Crazy Joe Davolta, and puts his pants on wrong, and only shaves one side of his face!, and this is extremely well written by Larry David and Directed by Tom Cherones, plus Jerry and George are so funny together in this one, they always are but especially this one!. It was also hilarious when Kramer puked on Susan, and this is also extremely well made as well, plus so many crazy things happen in this episode, as I can see why it's one of the most popular episodes in Seinfeld history!. It also has some pretty famous quotes, and Jerry's stand ups were especially hilarious here, plus the ending had me in stitches!. The court scene with Newman and Kramer is also a riot, as it's just hilarious when Newman lies, plus Heidi Swedberg(Susan) makes her 1st ever Seinfeld appearance here as she became one of the most famous Seinfeld characters ever!. The Pitch&The Ticket are both classic episodes, that I love, as they crack me up every time I watch them!, and I say if you haven't seen it, please do so immediately if your a Seinfeld fan you won't regret it!. ***** out of 5

Favorite quotes.

George: What did they do for toilet paper in the Civil War?. Jerry: Why?. George: I wonder what Toilet Paper was like in the 1860's, did they carry it in rolls, in there Duffel bags?. Jerry: Everything with you comes down to toilet paper. George: What?. Jerry: That's always the question with you, why is that always your focus?. George: Alright then what did they do?. Jerry: I don't know, maybe, they gave out big loose clumps to all the soldiers. George: I think it would be nice if there was some sort of Historical record for it. Jerry: Maybe they should have a toilet paper Museum would you like that?,so we could see all the toilet paper advancements down through ages, toilet paper during the crusades, the development of the perforation, the 1st six-pack!.

(Geroge trying to spell Russell Dalrymple's(Bob Balaban's,name). Lady: Mr. Dalrymple your Niece is on the phone. Dalrymple: I'll call back. George: D-A-L-R-I-M-P-E-L?. Russell: Not even close. George: Is that with a Y?. Russel: No.

(Jerry answering phone): Hello?. Guy: Hi, would you be interested in switching to TMI long distance service?. Jerry: Oh Gee I can't talk right now, why don't you give me your home number, and I'll call you later. Guy: Uhh...I'm sorry but were not allowed to do that. Jerry: Oh I guess you don't want people calling you at home. Guy: No. Jerry: Well know you know how I feel *Hangs up*.

George: Story is the foundation of all entertainment, you must have a good story, otherwise it's just masturbation.

The ticket

Kramer and Newman in court is a golden moment in a farce history on television. Jerry talking to cop comes second, still very funny. Georges rant about money and Ted Danson - also funny! Thats a classic Seinfeld as we know it.

It Could Not Be Funnier

Because Kramer gave him a defective radar detector, Newman got a speeding ticket. He goes to court but preps Kramer as a witness. He claims his friend was going to commit suicide because he always wanted to be a banker but failed. Meanwhile, Kramer is suffering from a head injury given him by that psycho writer. The courtroom scene is beyond belief. It is the creme de la creme of comedy, as two masterful character actors put it all out there. This fourth season has such wit and energy, I can only bow down to talent. The acting and the writing.

In the Seinfeld dvd set the pitch and ticket are combined as 1 episode.

I've already written an episode for the Pitch so please go check that one out.

Highlight: Uncle Leo calling Jerry's mom who calls Jerry while he's at the National Brodcasting Company headquarters and ask why he was rude to Uncle Leo.

Now that was random and comical.

Overall like the Pitch a solid episode with many laughs and engagement.

Elaine is practically a no show but you barely notice. George and Jerry could carry the show on their own.

The Doctor that Elaine was with reminded me of Green Goblin.

Overall a great episode.
