Brief Encounter

Shelley bumps into Desmond's young niece Anne-Marie and she takes a shine to Shelley.

After a borrowing ten pounds from Desmond, he takes her out.

Desmond warns Shelley that Anne-Marie might just be too much woman for him. Her mother was very fond of GIs during the war.

It is nice to see Shelley with female company, it takes a break from the philosophical observations in life and it gives an opportunity for more gags. Anne-Marie is in advertising just like Shelley once was, however she has more positive attitude to life and she likes Mrs Thatcher.

However Shelley finds that his libido needs some encouragement, it has been a while after Fran.
