It Is not About Sex, It is Betrayal
claudio_carvalho19 November 2006
Claire has an unsatisfactory homosexual experience with Edie. Claire feels pulled to Edie, but not sexually driven. James Dubois Marshall drives his car to Fisher & Diaz for his own funeral and dies. Vanessa throws Rico away and he sleeps with Sophia. Later Vanessa calls Angelica, they fight with Sophia and break her car with a baseball stick. Rico ends his affair with Sophia. Brenda meets Nate and Maya and travels in the Travel Town train. Sarge calls David and they have sex. Celeste has sex with Keith and fires him. Joe comes home unexpectedly and sees Brenda and Nate having sex. The hysterical Ruth is increasing her paranoia with George.

"Coming and Going" is a sexual episode and its title has double meaning, since most of the characters after satisfying their desires leave their partners somehow. The annoying character of Ruth is giving a terrible time to George and I do not know how long he will bear her. My vote is eight.

Going off the rails a bit

Warning: Spoilers
Sadly what was once peak drama appears to be turning into a mixture of rushed clichés and uninteresting exposition...

Claire and Keith's storylines are both extremely vapid portrayals of sexuality (well, at least they seem to be in my opinion), with Keith's being especially frustrating given that he just gives himself up to Celeste easily knowing what David's going through and after rejecting the advances of his male co-worker previously.

The on-and-off relationship with Brenda and Nate is no longer shocking anymore but I did think the showdown with Joe and Brenda was pretty great.

Rico's storyline is quite honestly hard to care about given the character's track record and feels like something straight out of a soap opera with its big dramatic outbursts and whatnot. Justina Machado's performance as Vanessa is pretty much the highlight here.

I guess that Ruth and George's storyline is the strongest here, but I can't help but feel that George is pretty much a 'jumping the shark' kind of character. The multiple showdowns between George and Ruth were definitely my favourite parts of the episode even if the dialogue was a bit heavy handed.

I really hope that the series can regain its former glory soon before I lose interest because up until now I've been really enjoying it. There's just one more thing I want to point out - why the hell did they put piano music on Joe's music stand? Was it really that hard to find sheet music for horn? I know it's just an insignificant blunder but it is pretty noticeable as a musician myself.

Incredibly weak
chupektomas14 October 2022
This show went incredibly weak this season. I don't understand how could that happened so suddenly. Everything is bad - the writing is horrible, there are just short, couple of second scenes going one after another, the character development, well there is no development anymore. Just people being frustrated about nothing and killing this frustration with sex. Everything what I liked about this show is gone and I don't like it anymore. It's boring and embarasing. It's on the level of a soap opera, maybe even worse.

I'm not sure if I want to continue watching only because promising 5th series. Anyway, it could be one of my most fav TV show.
