As a pilot episode it's a pretty good one, however if you aren't a fan of the Sonic games you won't have any idea what's going on.
I like the cast. It's good that they have easy to identify character traits, Sonic is impatient and brave, Sally is smart and determined, Anton is cowardly, and Cat is noble. Stinks that Sonic had to leave him behind.
It's pretty dark that someone died in the first episode. Can't wait to see what happens next.
